MTAP Networking & Travel
A portion of the annual MTAP is set aside for a networking fund. The purpose of the fund is to assist member states with the cost of participating in training, meetings, conferences, providing technical assistance or networking with their peers at other departments of transportation. Through the networking activities. state DOTs have the opportunity to learn about possible solutions or innovations that will assist the state agency in its procedures and its work with transportation operators or federal counterparts.
Eligible uses for the networking funds by the MTAP members include:
- sending state DOT staff to other state agencies to observe a practice or technology first hand;
- sending state agency staff to MTAP meetings, national conferences, statewide or regional meetings, workshops, and/or training programs;
- bringing in staff from out-of-state agencies to give on-site demonstrations, technical assistance or training; and
- bringing in other individuals from out-of-state to provide on-site demonstrations, technical assistance or training.
